This work can range from decorative paint effects in one room to a whole house or hotel, or even one item of furniture. Vanessa is often asked to paint 'new pine' furniture, making it more acceptable to contemporary tastes. She may use Provençal French style, a wood wash or a more traditional paint effect such as stippling.

Working with your existing fabrics or new ideas, kitchen walls can be colour washed, bathrooms given a pearlescent, gold or pigment wash and wooden kitchen and bathroom units re-painted and dragged. Once clients decide to use specialist paint effects instead of flat paint or wallpapers, they are invariably hooked, especially in newly built properties where papers are not so practical.
