Diana Porter Contemporary Bespoke Designer Jewellery
In August 2018, I decorated this feature wall in Diana Porter's jewellery shop in Park Street, Bristol. I used tones including graphite, gold and white to create the paint effects. The colours chosen, reflect the precious metals used in Diana's beautiful, creative work and that of numerous other designer/makers, whose work is showcased in this amazing space. The printed reproduction of the'Sibil's' image, was applied to the wall before.....
Hand Painted Kitchens, Homes, Hotels, Childrens Rooms
Vanessa is often asked to transform old wooden kitchens by hand painting kitchen units, making them more acceptable to contemporary tastes. Her work can range from decorative paint effects in one room to a whole house or hotel, or even one item of hand painted furniture on which she may paint in Provençal French style, a wood wash or a more traditional paint effect such as stippling.
Working with your existing fabrics or new ideas, kitchen walls can be colour wash.....
Historical Restoration
Vanessa tells us about her involvement with restoration.
"In early 1997, I started designing and decorating interiors for the extensive renovation of Uphill Manor, a Victorian Gothic country house hotel in North Somerset,. The project involved the restoration and renovation of stencilling and gilding circa 1855, by the prestigious interior designer/decorator John Gregory Crace, an associate of A W N Pugin. Stencilling at the manor became the subject of a Period Living feat.....
New Properties
One characteristic of the new building development that we have seen throughout the UK is that contemporary architecture particularly lends itself to having neutral tones and ‘textured’ walls created with paint. These specialist paint finishes break up vast areas of wall and ceiling, enhancing the space as a whole, complementing wood, metal, glass and stone.

Paint Effects Courses and Lectures
As a qualified teacher, Vanessa has run popular specialist paint effects courses since 1990 at venues in the West Country. These include the University of Bath, Dillington House, and Urchfont Manor College. Several courses were run at a C14 century house, where her stencilling and paint effects were used.
